The plane clearly needed to be green, but it ended up being paired with blue (I think because the plane has this feel of being built by someone, as planes don't spontaneously end up in spheres)
One of the biggest reasons this card ranks highly is that you have a easily triggered card draw that costs you no mana, so a free sacrifice outlet like Phyrexian Altar does incredible work with your creatures: drawing and paying for spells with very little assistance
He's great with equipment, but not every Commander deck will be both green and white
Ideally, I wanted the host to be green or white as those are the two base colors of host and augment (I'd already settled in on Bat- being the augment card, which meant it was going to be in black), so I made a list of every ability that appeared in green or white that we hadn't yet done on a host
It offers the player, for a low mana cost, 1GWB, the ability to look at the top card of their library at any time and cast aura and equipment spells from the library
