They work best in clear products like clear melt and pour (using transparent soap bases) where their shimmer is reflected and refracted beautifully in the light. However most mica powders do contain synthetic dyes and pigments to achieve that color effect so do use them in moderation. Normally we recommend keeping the amount of mica to ~1% of total ingredients.
